Exciting Leadership Updates at Sunlight Home
At Sunlight Home, our mission to empower, equip, and walk alongside women and children in crisis in Collier County has always been guided by faith, purpose, and strong leadership. Today, we are thrilled to share some exciting updates in our leadership team—changes that reflect a continued commitment to growth, service, and God’s calling on this ministry.
Honoring a Legacy of Service: Carolyn Bott Becomes President Emeritus
We are deeply grateful to Carolyn Bott, who has faithfully served as the President of the Board of Directors. Carolyn’s heart, wisdom, and steadfast leadership have been instrumental in shaping the mission and vision of Sunlight Home over the years. While she is stepping down from her current role, we are honored that she will continue to serve as President Emeritus, offering guidance and support to our team as we move into this next chapter.
Welcoming Julia Szwed as President of the Board
We are pleased to announce that Julia Swed has been appointed as the new President of the Board of Directors. Julia has been a dedicated member of our board since 2022 and brings with her a wealth of experience from the local nonprofit community. Her compassionate leadership, strategic insight, and deep belief in our mission make her the perfect person to help lead Sunlight Home into a future full of possibility.
E.B. Newberry Yarnell Transitions to First Vice President of the Board
After nearly two impactful years as CEO of Sunlight Home, E.B. Newberry Yarnell will now serve as First Vice President of the Board of Directors. E.B.’s tireless dedication, vision, and leadership have strengthened our programs and partnerships, and we are excited that she will continue to help guide the organization in this new capacity.
Dorely Hidalgo Carrillo Named Executive Director
We are also proud to share that Dorely Hidalgo Carrillo, who has been faithfully serving as Director of Operations, has been promoted to Executive Director. Dorely’s commitment to excellence, her deep care for the women and children we serve, and her hands-on leadership make her an invaluable part of the Sunlight Home family. We know she will continue to lead with integrity and compassion in her new role.
We believe these transitions are God-ordained and reflect His perfect timing. As we step into this new season, we do so with full hearts, confident that God is leading those He has called to Sunlight Home. These changes bring exciting new opportunities to deepen our impact, strengthen our mission, and expand our reach to serve even more women and children in need.
Thank you for being a part of the Sunlight Home community. We are grateful for your prayers, support, and belief in the transformational work happening every day within these walls.
With faith and excitement,
The Sunlight Home Team
