Today, we are honored to share a beautiful poem written by one of our courageous residents. This young mother has faced numerous challenges and is on a transformative journey to understand what it means to be a healthy, loving mother to her child.
Finding My Way: A Mother’s Heart
In the quiet of the night, When all the world is still, I search my heart and wonder, What a mother’s love should feel.
Should it be strong like mountains, Unyielding, never weak? Or gentle as a summer breeze, Tender, soft, and meek?
Should it guide with firm direction, Or let them find their way? Is it in the quiet moments, Or the words we choose to say?
A mother’s love, I’m learning, Is not a simple thing, It’s in the tears and laughter, In every song we sing.
It’s holding on and letting go, It’s comfort in the storm, It’s finding strength in weakness, A shelter safe and warm.
In the eyes of my sweet child, I see the path ahead, To be a loving, healthy mom, With every word I’ve said.
For in this journey, step by step, I find my heart’s true call, To be the best that I can be, A mother, giving all.
