Program Details
Embrace is a short-term emergency residential program for pregnant women. Women enter into the program at varying stages of their pregnancy and can remain in the program through their pregnancy and for an additional eight (8) weeks after delivery. During their time in the program, Sunlight staff works with Embrace participants to:
- Participate in mental health counseling and healing
- Draft a success plan
- Learn effective trauma recovery skills
- Create a safety plan
- Participate in prenatal and parenting classes
- Receive proper health care for baby and mother
- Create an effective resume
- Gain job skills
- Create an occupational plan
- Learn to budget
- Participate in bible study and attend church services
- Increase and improve knowledge of practical life skills
The primary goal of the Embrace program is to provide pregnant women, in desperate situations, a safe place to come and have their children. We created the Embrace program because we recognize that, in some situations, committing to an extended program may feel intimidating. We want to make sure our residents feel comfortable and inclined to accept an opportunity to escape situations of abortion pressure, abuse, and human trafficking so that they can provide their children with the gift of life.
