Extending a Hand, Offering Hope: How Our Enrich Outreach Program Is Making a Difference

Not every family in crisis is without a roof over their heads. Many mothers and children in our community are housed but just barely hanging on.

At Sunlight Home, we saw these silent struggles, and we knew we had to act. While we provide safe homes for pregnant women through our residential programs and serve as pregnancy shelters for those in crisis, we recognized that many families need support while maintaining their current housing.

That’s why we launched Enrich, an outreach program created to support financially struggling mothers and their children who are doing everything right but still can’t catch a break.

Meeting Families Where They Are

Enrich partners with local organizations to reach families in the heart of their communities, removing barriers like transportation that can prevent access to help.

We proudly visit and serve through locations like:

  • Café of Life in Bonita Springs – where families gather for meals and support, and we provide clothing, hygiene kits, and baby gear during outreach visits.
  • Bonita Springs Assistance Office – where we collaborate to distribute essentials to families already receiving financial counseling or emergency support services.

Through these partnerships, Enrich delivers:

  • Baby essentials
  • Children’s clothing and shoes
  • Seasonal necessities
  • Safety items
  • Hygiene kits
  • Referrals to resources for pregnant single moms

We host pop-up outreach events at these partner sites and others to ensure families receive help where and when they need it most.

Impact So Far in 2025 and a Call for Action

This year alone, Enrich has supported over 250 families.

As the number of struggling families increases, we need more volunteers to meet the growing demand.

We are currently seeking volunteers to:

  • Sort, fold, and pack donated items like clothes, hygiene supplies, and baby gear
  • Help distribute items during outreach events at Café of Life, Bonita Springs Assistance, and other sites
  • Assist with transportation and pick-up of donations
  • Help with behind-the-scenes tasks like outreach prep or organizing donation drives
